- A bachelor's degree or senior in standing in an ABET or CEAB accredited engineering curriculum
Or
- 4 years of experience (education, work experience, or combination of both)
Option 1: Education
- If you have a bachelor's degree or have achieved senior standing in an ABET accredited or CEAB accredited engineering curriculum, go directly to the NCEES website and register for your exam
- If you have a CEAB accredited degree and registered for your exam with NCEES, submit a customer contact form and include your NCEES ID number so we may release the hold
- If you have a CEAB accredited degree, a foreign degree evaluation is not required
- If you have a non-ABET accredited engineering degree from a foreign country, go directly to NCEES and have your degree evaluated by NCEES Credentials Evaluations before applying for the exam. The evaluation is performed at your expense, and you're responsible for submitting information to NCEES.
- After you pass the exam, to obtain a certification as an EIT in Washington submit a certification application to the board that shows you meet the requirements listed in Chapter 196-20 WAC
