Renewals

Professional License

• Professional Licenses expire every 2 years on your birthday
• You can renew 120 days before your license expires
• If your license has been expired longer than 5 years you will need to pass the Washington Law Review for your profession
• PLS & OS Designers are required to maintain proof of their professional development hours (PDH)
   

Business License

• Licenses expire annually
• You can renew 120 days before your license expires
• You must have an active corporation/LLC registration with the Washington State Secretary of State and Department of Revenue
• Your designated engineer/land surveyor must have an active license
   

Before You Renew

• You must use Google Chrome as your browser and turn the Chrome pop-up blocker off before you start your renewal.
• You’ll need a SecureAccess Washington (SAW) login to renew online. If you don't have one, you'll create it before you start your renewal. How to set up a SAW account.
• Add “Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors” service to your SAW account.
• You can update your contact information during the renewal process.
• Be prepared to answer legal background questions and provide documents, if needed.

• Check or money orders are accepted for renewals by mail
