OLYMPIA, Wash. August 19, 2024 - The State of Washington Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors announces Maureen D. Jackson, PE, as a new Board member. She was appointed by Governor Jay Inslee to a 5-year term.
Maureen has over 30 years of experience and is a registered Professional Electrical Engineer in Washington, Alaska and Nevada. She is a Principal with Stantec in their Lynnwood office and involved in the design of electrical systems for buildings, particularly healthcare facilities.
“Having worked with her for years, I’ve witnessed first-hand her dedication to carefully thought-out solutions and teamwork,” commented Board Chair, Marjorie Lund, PE, SE.
Maureen earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) from Tulane University. She also is an active member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).
“Maureen has an excellent public protection mindset and an ethical North Star bearing, both which fit perfectly with our board members,” added Ken Fuller, PE, BRPELS Director.
She relocated to the Seattle area in 2001. When she’s not busy designing award-winning electrical systems, Maureen enjoys spending time with her family and cheering on her favorite baseball team, the Seattle Mariners.
Maureen replaces Ivan VanDeWege, PE, who retired from the Board this month, after serving two 5-year terms. The Board is comprised of seven members and two pro-tem, who are a variety of experienced Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. The Mission of the Board is to safeguard life, health and property, and to promote the public welfare, regarding engineering, land surveying and on-site wastewater system designs.
