It was another chance to listen and learn, for BRPELS staff and an LSAW chapter, as agency visits continue to each of the 12 chapters. Most recently, staff presented at the North Puget Sound Chapter, which met in Issaquah on May 27, 2025.
The group included Deputy Director, Kristina Horton, PLS, our new Investigations and Compliance Manager, Randy Garcia and Communication Manager, Greg Schieferstein. Kristina explained the latest on the agency, makeup of the Board, licensing and investigations. Greg reviewed the new BRPELS website, LinkedIn, Get Kids Into Survey and “Don’t Cut Corners” campaigns.
“The topic everyone seems to lean forward and listen to, is compliance and investigations,” Kristina said. “Hopefully, we can explain the process, the different paths they can take and most importantly, not to panic.”
About 20 members attended the meeting, which included PLS’s, LSIT’s and retired surveyors.
Recent chapter visits include the Lower Columbia (Vancouver), Northwest (Bellingham), South Puget Sound (Tacoma), Cascade Columbia (Yakima), Southwest (Grand Mound), South Central (Tri-Cities), Inland Empire (Spokane) and Lower Columbia (Vancouver).
