BRPELS was honored with a “People’s Choice” award for the agency’s exhibition booth at the American Public Works Association, Washington Chapter Fall Conference, held in Kennewick at the Three Rivers Convention Center, October 9 and 10, 2024. Attendees voted the BRPELS booth had the best materials, message and interaction with attendees, among the more than 70 booths at the conference. Board Vice Chair Doug Hendrickson, PE, joined Director Ken Fuller, PE, Deputy Director Kristina Horton, PLS, Regulatory Program Manager Shanan Gillespie and Communication and Outreach Manager, Greg Schieferstein, as they connected with over 400 attendees. Topics discussed included survey monument preservation, Professional Engineer and Surveyor licensing, the new agency website and encouraging kids to get into surveying.
